Glimpses of Ladakh is the ideal opportunity for those looking to discover Ladakh’s cultural and topographical treasures – its scenic highway passes, monasteries, scenic countryside – in as little time as possible. This 4 nights and 5 days package will let you explore some of the most remarkable Buddhist Monasteries in Leh Ladakh which includes Shey Monatery, Thiksey Monastery, Hemis Monastery and Stok. While in Leh, you’ll also visit Shanti Stupa which offers panoramic view of the Leh Town and one of the best photo ops of the town along with Leh Palace where the former monarch of Ladakh resided. And that is not all as you will be taken on topof Khardung La, the highest motorable pass in the world.

EXPEDITION DETAIL

DAY 1 : ARRIVAL AT LEH AIRPORT

Your flight from Delhi would be an early morning one. On this day when you arrive Leh by air you would witness one of the most beautiful sights of Leh valley amidst the spectacular Himalayan peaks. We shall receive you at the airport and take you to your hotel. This day you take it easy – its 10,000 ft and you need to acclimatise to get used to low oxygen levels. So take this day at leisure. For non Indian tourists this day will be used for applying and processing of mandatory inner line permits. Your bikes would also arrive at your hotel and we could go out for a small trail ride. Otherwise just walk around the unique Leh market, no exertions today.

DAY 02 : LEH – LAMAYURU, MOONLAND, ALCHI, & LIKIR – LEH

This day we drive out to explore some very unique landscapes of Himalayan region. A scenic ride through some fine rocky faces to visit the Lamayuru Monastery and Moonland. On our way back we would visit Alchi Monastery and Likir Monasteries, the magical phenomenon of Magnetic hill and the scenic Bazgo plains. We ride back to hotel by late afternoon. On this day you would be pretty comfortable with the roads of Ladakh and of course your motorcycle. You are now ready to explore other regions of Ladakh, the largest district of India. Dinner and over night in leh Hotel.

DAY 3 : LEH – NUBRA VALLEY (VIA KHARDONGLE PASS)

TAfter morning breakfast ride to Nubra valley over the Khardung la,(18300feet) highest motor able road in the World. The view from top of the passes is amazing. One can see all the way south over the Indus valley to the seemingly endless peaks. After explores we drive toward the down Hunder past an area of rolling sand dunes, one can see double hump Camel and visitors can take a camel safari dunes at Hundar. Over night at camps in Hunder.

DAY 04 : HUNDER – SIACHEN BASE CAMP

Today post breakfast ride to Siachen Glacier enroute can visit Sumur ( visit the 150 year old Samstanling Gompa It is one of the prettiest sights in the valley. The main attraction of the village is the Samstanling Gompa, located above the village at the foot of barren mountains and next stop is Panamik hot spring (Panamik has a natural hot water spring. There is a bath which has the facilities so that you can take bath in the natural hot water spring and continue to visit Sasoma village and you will reach base camp by afternoon and explore the beauty of Saichen Glacier and then drive back to sumur , dinner and over night at Sumur Camp/Hotel.

DAY 05 : SUMMUR TO PANGONG LAKE VIA SHAYOK

After breakfast at Camp/hotel we ride to next destination pangong lake via Shyok and onto Tangtse and Spangmik ( Pangong). It’s a short cut and it’s a beautiful route. The road follows the Shyok river, and climbs up a mountain before finally descending into Shayok village. It took us less than an hour to reach Shayok, and we were delighted at the sight of the rather big village surrounded by barren mountains, the entire setting being very picturesque. Afternoon we reach at Pangong lake and enjoy your day at pangong lake. Overnight.

DAY 06 : PANGONG LAKE – LEH (VIA CHANGLA PASS)

During early morning, you can enjoy a photo-session around the lake. Post breakfast, ride Leh via changla pass. An optional tour of Hemis Monastery (5 kilometre from Kharu) is also on the cards. Hemis is the largest and richest monastery complex in Ladakh. You will Leh by noon. In the afternoon, enjoy a shopping tour in the local markets of Leh. Stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 07 : LEH MONASTERY TOUR

After morning break fast visiting the most important monasteries of Ladakh -Thiksey Gompa and Shey Palace. we visit the superbly situated, 16th century, Thiksey Gompa, which is perched on a hill top. Last stop is the ruined Shey Palace, once the summer palace of the pre-Tibetan kings. The palace monastery houses a large, bronze, blue haired Buddha statue. we continued to visit Stok Palace Museum. Back to Leh hotel for dinner and overnight.

DAY 08 : LEH DEPARTURE

After breakfast, check out from the hotel & drop at Airport for return journey with sweet memories of Ladakh Tour.
